Sleek MakeUP Rose Gold Blush

I was recently sent two of the new Sleek MakeUP blushers from their new autumn/winter collection.
I really like the packaging of the blushers; they have the same thick black case with a mirror inside, similar to the eyeshadow palettes. They aren't that easy to open and I did end up chipping my nail getting into them but other than that I really love their size and style.
Out of the two I was sent I prefer Rose Gold as to me it looks more natural and is the kind of colour i'd choose if I was looking for a new blush. It makes a really good everyday blush and although on first appearance I thought the glitter might look really obvious it actually blends in nicely.
Sunrise is darker and still looks nice but isn't a colour I would use everyday. It reminds me of bronzer (something I don't normally use) so I think i'm going to have a play around with it and see if I can get it to work for me.
They are priced at £3.99 each which makes them really affordable and good value. They were released today and you can buy them online from the Sleek MakeUP website or from Superdrug stores.

I'm Gonna Lift To Lift It Higher

This is going to be my new weekly feature which i'll post every Sunday. I've been inspired by a few other bloggers (Lily, Victoria, Aqsa, Kate and Jennie to name a few) who are doing similar kinds of posts and I always enjoy reading them so I thought i'd do my own. I've also decided to incorporate my Tumblr Ten and Monthly Playlist posts into these posts too. Each post will have my favourite Tumblr picture of the week and the song i've listened to most as well as the little highlights of my week. I hope you enjoy reading them :)

.1. My new layout has definitely grown on me; I love how clean it feels and it's inspired me to write better posts and take better photos to go with it. That's partly why i've decided to do this feature as it means I won't be spamming you with lots of Tumblr photos and music which I know some people won't be that interested in. I've also been reading through some of my older posts and there are a few reviews which i'm going to re-write as a lot of you won't have seen them and they are badly written!

.2. This week has actually been quite eventful for me. I turned 18 on Tuesday (thanks for all your tweets and comments) and went out for a meal with my family. It was really nice except for being given a children's menu when I was clearly wearing an 18 badge! I then went out with my friends on Thursday night and had an amazing time; I found out on Friday that birthday cake makes a nice hangover cure ;)

.3. I went to a university open day last weekend and I left feeling so inspired. I wasn't completely sure what I wanted to study so I went to visit a uni which was only 30 minutes away. I wasn't expecting much but it was actually really good; it has brand new buildings and I felt like I would really fit in. I was talking to one of the tutors and she was so helpful; she told me which course she thought would be right for me and told me how much confidence moving away to uni would give me. I will probably apply there but i'd prefer to move somewhere a bit further away but as it's a really good uni I would still be more than happy to go there. It has also inspired me to work harder as I know now that I really want to go to uni and i'm more determined to get the grades. I've got a few more unis that i'd like to visit so hopefully they'll be just as good.

.4. The lovely Sarah recently interviewed me for her blog which you can read here. She has a lovely blog so i'd really recommend heading over there and reading some of her posts :)

.5. I'm currently listening to The Saturdays - Higher (title song), The Pictures - Tears (even though I didn't watch Must Be The Music) and Kings Of Leon - Radioactive.

Birthday Presents

As promised here are some of my favourite presents that I got for my birthday on Tuesday :)

Lush Hello Gorgeous Giftset
This gift smells lovely (like everything from Lush!) and I haven't tried anything that's in it before so it will be nice to use some new products.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Giftset
I've been wanting this for so long so my mum treated me to it for my birthday - I ♥ it!

Mini Shopaholic Book
I've read all the rest of the books in this series so I can't wait to start reading this :)

My Laptop
I can blog so much easier now I have my own!

and finally ... lots of chocolates and and a French Fancie birthday cake!

As you might have noticed, my blog has had a bit of a makeover as I thought it was a bit cluttered before. It's not completely finished as I want to make some new buttons and a banner but let me know what you think of it so far :)

Liz Earle Energising Range

I was recently sent the Liz Earle Energising Range to review. I've tried lots of different Liz Earle products in the past so I was really looking forward to giving this range a try.
Energising Body Wash
I always use body wash and i've tried so many different types and brands so it's nice to have been given the opportunity to try a high end one. This body wash has a really natural scent that is quite strong and lathers up really well. It was really moisturising and left my skin feeling soft and smelling fresh. I think this body wash would be really good to use in the morning as the scent would really help to wake you up! It is a lot more expensive than any of the other body washes i've tried and although I was really impressed with it I think the price does let it down.
This body wash retails at £10.75 from the Liz Earle Website
Energising Body Scrub
I don't generally use body scrubs a lot but i've tried quite a few different types. My personal favourite for the lovely smell is Lush's Sugar Babe but it can be tricky to use as it's so hard. I've also tried a Boots one which was really sticky and left a horrible greasy residue on my skin and all over the shower! This one has a honey-like texture and appearance and smells lovely! It has little beads in it that are similar to the ones in St Ives Apricot Scrub and they aren't too harsh on your skin. I really enjoying using this as it made my skin really soft and the smell lingered around for a long time. I also like that it comes in a tube so it's really easy to control how much you use and isn't messy. Out of the three products in this range this is the one i'd definitely recommend.
This body scrub retails at £12.50 from the Liz Earle Website

Energising Body Hip & Thigh Gel
I've never tried a product like this so I can't really compare it to anything else. I think it is probably aimed at people who are older than me but that didn't hold me back when giving it a go. It is a really good consistency which means that it soaks into the skin quite quickly and helps to moisturise it and leave it looking healthy. It has a really lovely scent which lingers for a long time and I find myself re-applying it a few nights a week just because I like the smell of it!
This product retails at £21 from the Liz Earle Website

NOTD - Barry M Vivid Purple

I haven't done a NOTD in a while so I thought i'd show you the polish i'm wearing today. I haven't worn a dark polish for ages so I picked Barry M's Vivid Purple which i've only worn a couple of times. I really like it and although it does chip easily I don't mind re-painting my nails for such a nice colour.
And even though this is only my second day back at 6th Form...

30 Days: Day 28

This Year, In Great Detail
I couldn't remember all 365 days since last summer so this obviously won't be in great detail!
I'll try and do it for 2010 instead! I've also linked my favourite photos from each month so you can have a look at some of my older posts :)
January

Didn't do much this month, all that's written on my calendar is my brother's birthday and Skins which must have started this month.

February

I donated my first pint of blood this month which is a massive achievement. You can read about my experience here. I also went to the 6th Form Valentine's Party which was lots of fun as usual. I had my hair cut on the 13th at 9:30 (just in case you want the tiny details!) It was my Dad's birthday, my blog's 1st birthday and Parsley's 2nd Birthday this month too :)

March

I passed my theory test on the 3rd, went to a couple of parties and then celebrated Sage's 2nd Birthday on the 12th.

April

Went to another 6th Form Party and went out with my friends as it was the holidays.

May

Had lots of exams so it was quite a busy month and I spent most of it revising :/ (Luckily it paid off!)

June

Finished the rest of my exams and went to watch Hairspray The Musical with my family which was brilliant. I also donated my second pint of blood :)

July

Didn't do a lot this month, just finished my first year of 6th Form and went to some parties to celebrate.
August

Went to a housewarming party, went to the park for my friend's birthday, went to the cinema, had my haircut and looked after 5 cats.
You can read all the little details about my month here.

Sorry for the lack of beauty related posts recently, there will be more to come soon :)
